The Role of African Women in Development and Economic Life
Women make up more than half of Africa’s population and are widely recognized as a key pillar of economic and social development. However, many African women continue to face structural barriers rooted in unequal social systems and discriminatory practices in education, employment, and public life.
Despite important progress toward gender equality, significant challenges remain. In the context of the Black Lives Matter movement, examining the realities and challenges of African women’s participation in development and economic life is especially relevant. Through conversations, events, and partnerships, the African Cultural Foundation aims to highlight both the resilience and leadership of African women while advocating for systemic change.
