Wellness programming also centers culturally responsive practices such as AfroYoga, a series designed specifically for BIPOC participants to cultivate relaxation, strength, and inner balance in a supportive environment. In addition, initiatives like the Afro Language Café bring people together to learn African languages in an informal setting over coffee and conversation, strengthening cultural connection and community bonds.

Through these activities, the African Cultural Foundation promotes wellbeing not only as individual self-care but as a collective practice that nurtures community resilience, cultural heritage, and shared empowerment.

In 2025, we organized a total of three yoga sessions, and in 2024, two sessions, all of which were well received by the community. Our program included both open sessions accessible to anyone and community-focused sessionsspecifically designed for the Black and POC communities. Among these, our AfroYoga series, held during Black History Month, offered yoga sessions tailored for BIPOC participants.
These sessions provided a supportive and culturally affirming space where participants could relax, build strength, and reconnect with their bodies while celebrating community, identity, and cultural heritage. By integrating movement and mindfulness practices, the series contributed to both physical wellness and communal empowerment.
